Patna : Asked to bat first by India, who won the toos, Bangladesh scored 166/8 in 20 overs against India in the final of Nidahas Trophy T20 tri-series final at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, Sri Laknka, on March 18, 2018, night, riding on an explosive 77 by 50 balls with 7 fours and 4 sixes by Sabbir Rahman. Bangladesh batsmen scored 18 runs in the 20th over. with Mehidy Hasan hitting 2 fours and a six in his unbeaten 19. Bangladesh innings comprised 13 fours and 6 sixes.

Rahman was bowled by pacer Jaidev Unadkat when the Bangladesh score was 147. Wrist spinner Yuzvendra Chahal took 3/18 while off spinner Washington Sunder took 1/20. But, while Chahal and Sunder gave away only 38 runs between them in 8 overs, pacers Shardul Thakur and Vijay Shankar leaked away 45 and 48 runs respectively. Unadkat took 2/33 in his 4 overs. Two Bangladesg batsmen : Mahmudullah and captain Shakib Al Hasan, were run out.
