Bagaha SP suspends ASI

Bagaha : Police had to face the ire of encroachers when they reached village Barawa under Dhanaha police station in West Champaran district on September 8, 2017, evening to remove an encroachment over a disputed plot. Three cops: Santosh Paswan, ASI, BMP Havildar Akhilesh Kumar and Upendar Mahto were injured as the encroachers resorted to brickbatting. Three encroachers : Radhey Nishad, Ramadhar Nishd and Byas Nishad were injured in firing by rival group and admitted to Gorakhpur Medical College Hospital, UP.

Sources said that trouble started when a former Mukhiya Nand Yadav’s supporters set up few Gumati on a disputed land near Ramjanki temple at the village where a local market runs and fishermen keep their fish buckets there on market day.  Getting information about tension at the village, police reached there to remove the encroachment but both the groups were so agressive that some persons resorted to brickbatting at them in which three cops including  Santosh Paswan, ASI, were injured seriously. When the police saw themself surrounded by a mob, they fired in the air to disperse the people.

Bagaha SP Arbind Kumar Gupta on September 9 said here that police fired two rounds in the air in self defence and none was injured but Santosh Pasawan, ASI, who had gone to disputed land not accompanied by Revenue officer, has been suspended. A case has been lodged with Dhanaha police station  by one Sarda Nishad against six named accused: Nand Yadav, Binod Gond, Manoj Gond, Safiq Gaddi, Kosil Nishad and Lalbihari Kushwaha of the village. Police force led by SDPO, Bagaha, Sanjiv Kuma,r has been camping at village Barawa and raids are on to arrest the accused persons.
