Bagaha : The members of Bagaha Bar Association led by their president Indubhusan Pandey and General Secretary Sunil Upadhyay on April 21, 2017, took out a procession from Civil Court, Bagaha, to SDM’s residence. They were shouting slogans against Chairman of Law commission B S Chauhan and burnt his effigy and copies of the proposed amendment in Advocate Act before the SDM office at Bagaha.
They were demanding withdrawal of proposed amendment in the Act. They also abstained from judicial work on the day. The bar association also passed another resolution against SDM, Bagaha, Dharmendra Kumar, and said the members of the association will not attend SDM’s court because he did not meet them either at his residence or at his office for accepting their memorandum addressed to the Union Law Minister. The SDM, however, told this reporter that by the time he reached his office, the lawyers had left the place.
