Ara : Hundreds of advocates abstained from the judicial work on April 21, 2017, and took out a procession from Ara Civil Court under the banner of Ara Bar Association that passed through the main thoroughfares of the town and terminated at the gate of the office of Bhojpur District Magistrate.

The procession was taken out in protest against the proposed amendment in the Advocate Act. The  advocates blocked the K G road roundabout and paralysed the movement of vehicles for about two hour. They also staged gherao of the DM and raised slogans against the union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and burnt his effigy and the copy of proposed amendment Bill. A delegation met the DM and submitted a protest petition to the President of India and Union Law Minister through him.
