Bagaha court sentences 4 to life imprisonment in murder case

Bagaha : ADJ I,  Bagaha, Dipak Kumar Singh on June 9, 2017, sentenced to life imprisonment four persons including a woman in a case of murder of Pataru Bind of village Tikara diara under Piparasi police station in West Champaran district on October 20, 2015.

According to prosecution, a violent clash over possession of 12 kattha of land had taken place at Tikara Diara in which Pataru Bind was killed on October 20, 2015. His brother Mahanth Bind had lodged an FIR with Piparasi police station in this connection.

Five persons: Tufani Bind, Ramprabesh Bind, Mohan Bind, Anil Bind and Lawangi Divi were made named accused but due lack of evidence, the court acquitted Anil Bind. Thirteen witnesses deposed before the Court. The ADJ convicted remaining four accused including a woman guilty and sentenced them to life imprisonment besides slapping a fine of Rs 20,000 on each of them. APP Samsul Hoda was prosecution lawyer while Akhileshwar Bharti was the defence lawyer.
