Ara: A five kilometre long four- lane road bridge over river Ganga between Babura-Doriganj is yet to be completed. It was to be inaugurated in July 2014 but the construction work is still going on. It is now expected to be completed in January 2017. The bridge starts from Babura in Bhojpur district and stretches up to Doriganj in Saran district. It is being constructed with latest world class technology.

The Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation Limited (BSBCCL) had made DPR of the bridge in July 2010 and the estimated cost of bridge was Rs 676 crore. The foundation of the bridge was laid in February 2011 and it was to be completed in July 2014. But it could not be completed in stipulated time due to some technical problems. Now work on only five pillars is on and is expected to be completed by the end of this year. Steamers from Kolkata have been requisitioned so that work is not hampered due to rise in water level in river Ganga.

With the construction of the bridge, two age old culture and Bhojpuri speaking people of two ditricts, Bhojpur and Saran will be connected. The bridge will also connect National Highway No 19 and 30. This bridge is in two parts. Its first part stretches up to four kilometre with 53 pillars while the second part stretches measures 350 metre with 7 pillars over river Ganga.
