B Sai Praneeth enters 2nd round of BWF French Open

Patna : World No 26 in BWF rankings B Sai Praneeth, India, entered the second round of French Open badminton tournament at Paris, France, on October 24, 2018. Praneeth beat World No 38 Ygor Coelho, 21, Brazil,  21-13, 21-17 in 40 minute in the first round.

But, World No 23 Sameer Verma, 23, India, who had beaten World No 2 Shi Yuqi, China, in Denmark Open recently, lost his first round match to World No 13 Jonatan Christie, Indonesia, in a three-set encounter. Jonatan beat Sameer Verma 16-21, 21-17, 21-15 in 61 minute in the first round.

World No 16 Khosit Phetpradab, Thailand, lost to World No 29 Lee Dong Keun, South Korea, in the first round. Keun beat Phetpradab 10-21, 21-10, 21-15 in 72 minute in the first round.

World No 32 Kazumasa Sakai, 28, Japan, stunned World No 14 Lin Da, 35, China, 9-21, 21-14, 21-14 inn the first round.
