Patna : Top seed Viktor Axelsen, 27, Denmark, beat 4th seed Kidambi Srikanth, 28, India, in straight games in semi-finals on March 6, 2021, to reach the final of Yonex Swiss Open 2021, an HSBC BWF World Tour Super 300 badminton tournament, at St Jakobshalle Basel, Basel, Switzerland.

World No 2 Axelsen beat World No 13 Srikanth 21-13, 21-19 in 41 minutes in semi-finals. Axelsen won 42 rallies in the match to 32 by the Indian. Both the players won 6 consecutive games each during the match.  Axelsen now leads Srikanth 6-3 Head to Head.

Axelsen, the 2017 World Champion, will face 8th seed & World No 25 Kunlavut Viditsarn, 19, Thailand, in final on March 7, 2021. Kunlavut defeated 2nd seed & World No 11 Lee Zii Jia, 22, Malaysia,  21-18, 21-10 in 41 minutes in semi-finals on March 6. The Thai won 42 rallies in the match to 28 by Lee. He won 8 consecutive points during the match to 4 by Lee. The Malaysian, however, still leads Kunlavut 2-1 Head to Head.
