Patna : Electing to bat after winning the toss, Australia scored 272/9 in 50 overs in the 5th ODI against India at Feroz Shah Kotla Ground, Delhi, on March 13, 2019, with opener Usman Khawaja scoring 100 in 106 balls with 10 fours and 2 sixes, his second ODI ton, both in this series, and Peter Handscomb scoring 52 in 60 balls with 4 fours.

Captain Aaron Finch fell to spinner Ravindra Jadeja for 27. Glen Maxwell also fell to Jadeja for 1 while Marcus Stoinis fell to Bhuvaneshwar Kumar for 20. Ashton Turner fell to spinner Kuldeep Yadav for 20 in 20 balls with 2 fours and a six. Wicketkeeper Alex Carey fell to fast bowler Mohammad Shami for 3. Fast bowler Jhye Richardson was run out for 29 in 21 balls with 2 fours while Pat Cummins fell to Bhuvaneshwar Kumar for 15 with 2 fours.

For India, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar took 3/48 in 10 overs including the wicket of Usman Khawaja while Mohammad Shami took 2/57 in 9 overs. Ravindra Jadeja took 2/45 while Kuldeep Yadav took 1/74 in 10 overs. Jasprit Bumrah leaked 19 runs in his 9th over conceding 39 runs in 10 overs. He had given only 14 runs in his first 8 overs.
