Patna : Australia hammered England by 146 runs in the 5th test at Bellerive Oval, Hobart, Australia, on day 3 of the match on January 16, 2022, to win the five-match Ashes series 4-0. Travid Head was named both Players Of The Match & Players Of The Series. England had won the won toss and opted to bowl.
Chasing a target of 271 runs, England were all out for just 124 runs in their second innings with fast bowler Pat Cummins ( captain) taking 3/42 in 12.5 overs, fast medium bowler Scott Boland taking 3/18 in 12 overs, and medium fast bowler Cameron Green taking 3/21 in 6 overs. Fast bowler Mitchell Starc also took one wicket. For England, who had scored 188 runs in their first innings, opener Zak Crawley scored 36 runs while captain Joe Root scored 11.
