Patna : Australia defeated Sri Lanka (SL) by 6 wickets in the 3rd T20I at Manuka Oval, Canberra, Australia, on February 15, 2022, to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series as all-rounder Glenn Maxwell scored 39 runs in 26 balls hitting 3 fours and 2 sixes while captain Aaron Finch scored 35 runs in 36 balls with 3 fours. Australia had won the toss and opted to bowl.

Chasing a target of 122 runs, Australia scored 124/4 in 16.5 overs as Josh Inglis scored an unbeaten 21 in 18 balls with 2 fours while all-rounder Marcus Stoinis remained 12 not out in 8 balls with 2 fours. Australia though had a shaky start as they lost the wicket of opener Ben McDermott (0) with no run on the board. McDermott fell to spinner Maheesh Theekshana.

Spinner Ashton Agar, who opened the innings with McDermott, also fell to Theekshana for 13 making it 26/2.  Maxwell also fell to Theekshana for 39 and it was 76/3. Maxwell and Aaron Finch added 50 runs for the 3rd wicket. Finch fell to spinner Jeffrey Vandersay for 35 making it 102/4.

Earlier battinf first, SL had scored 121/6 in 20 overs with captain Dasun Shanaka 39 runs while Dinesh Chandimal (wk) scored 25 runs. Fast medium bowler Kane Richardson took 3/21 in 4 overs. Richardson was named Player Of The Match.
