Patna : Australia defeated South Africa (SA) by 97 runs in the 3rd T20I at Newlands, Cape Town, SA, on February 26, 2020, late night, to win the three-match series 2-1.

Chasing a target of 194 runs, SA were all out for 96 runs with fast bowler Mitchell Starc taking 3/23 in 2.3 overs, spinner Ashton Agar 3/16 in 4 overs, and spinner Adam Zampa 2/10 in 3 overs. Pat Cummins and Mitchell Marsh took one wicket each. Opener Rassie van der Dussen was the top scorer for SA with 24 run while Heinrich Klaasen made 22. David Miller scored 15. Quinton de Kock ( c & wk)  and Faf du Plessis scored 5 runs each.

Batting first, Australia scored 193/5 in 20 overs with openers Aaron Finch (55) and David Warner (57) adding 120 runs for the first wicket. Steven Smith remained unbeaten on 30 in 15 balls hitting 2 sixes.

Australian fast bowler Mitchell Star was declared Player of The Match while captain Aaron Finch (opener) was declared Player of The Series. Australia have won their last three T20I series in South Africa.
