Patna : Australia defeated Pakistan by 7 wickets in the 2nd T20I at Manuka Oval, Canberra, Ausyralia, on November 5, 2019, to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. Opting to bat after winning the toss, Pakistan had scored 150/6 in 20 overs with opener Babar Azam (captain) scoring 50 in 38 balls hitting 6 fours while Iftikhar Ahmed scored an unbeaten 62 in 34 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes, his maiden T20I fifty. Babar Azam was run out. Opener Fakhar Zaman fell to fast bowler Pat Cummins for 2 while Haris Sohail fell to Kane Richardson for 6.

In reply, Australia scored 151/3 in 18.3 overs with Steven Smith scoring an unbeaten 80 in 51 balls hitting 11 fours and six while opener David Warner fell to fast bowler Mohammad Amir for 20 in 11 balls with 4 fours. Opener Aaron Finch ( captain) fell to fast bowler Mohammad Irfan for 17 with 3 fours. Ben McDermott fell to Imad Wasim for 21 in 22 balls with 1 four. Steven Smith was declared Player of the Match. The 1st T20I between the two countries was called off due to rain.
