Patna : Australia defeated England in the 4th ODI by three wickets at Adelaide Oval, Australia, on January 26, 2018, with Travis Head making 96 in 107 balls hitting 15 fours and wicketkeeper Tim Paine an unbeaten 25 in 31 balls hitting 2 fours attaining the victory target of 197 in 37 overs.
Captain Steven Smith made only 4 in 16 balls while opener David Warner made 13. All rounder Mitchell Marsh scored 32 in 30 balls hitting 3 fours and a six. For England, Adil Rashid took 3/49, Chris Woakes 1/36, T Curran 1/10 and Mark Wood 1/58.
Australia won the won toss but opted to ball first. England were all out for 196 in 44.5 overs with all rounder Chris Woakes scoring 78 in 82 balls hitting 4 fours and 5 sixes and pacer T Curran making 35 in 35 balls hitting 2 fours and a six. England Captaon Eoin Morgan made 33 in 61 balls hitting only one four while Moen Ali made 33 in 50 balls hitting 3 fours. Openers Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow were out without scoring while Alex Hales was out for 3. Wicketkeeper was also out for duck. England had lost first five wickets with team score reading eight runs. The sixh wicket ( Morgan) fell at 61, 7th at 112 and 8th at 120.
For Australia, Pat Cummins took career best 4/24 and Josh Hazlewood 3/39. A Tye took 3/33. Cummins was declared Player of the Match. England lead the five-match ODI series 3-1 having won the first three matches.
