Patna : Australia were 132/4 in 48 overs in their second innings at stumps on day 3 in the second test against India at Perth Stadium, Perth, Australia, on December with Usman Khwaja batting on 41 and captain & wicketkeeper Tim Paine batting on 8. Australia lead by 175 runs with two days left to the play.

Opener Marcus Harris was bowled by Jasprit Bumrah for 20 while his opening partner Aaron Finch retired hurt on 25. Shaun Marsh fell to Mohammad Shami for 5 while Perter Handscomb fell lbw to Ishant Sharma for 13. Travis Head fell to Shami for 19. For India, Shami took 2/23, Ishant Sharma 1/33, and Jasprit Bumrah 1/25.

Earlier, resuming at their overnight score of 172/3, India were all out for 283 in the first session of the play riding on a brilliant 123 with 13 fours and a six by captain Virat Kohli, his 25th test ton. The last seven wickets added only 111 runs for India with Ajinkya Rahane getting out for 51 with 6 fours and a six and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant scoring 36 with 2 fours and a six. Hanuma Vihari scored 20.

For Australia, spinner Nathan Lyon took 5/67, Mitchell Starc 2/79, and Josh Hazlewood 2/66. Pat Cummins took 1/60.
