Patna : Australia beat England by 5 wickets in the second match of tri-series T20I also involving New Zealand at Bellerive Oval, Hobart, Australia, on February 7, 2018, with Glen Maxwell scoring an unbeaten 103 in 58 balls hitting 10 fours and 4 sixes. Stand in Captain David Warner was out for 4 while D Short made 30 in 20 balls hitting 2 fours and 2 sixes. Maxwell was declared Player of the Match.

Asked to bat first by Australia who won the toss, England made 155/9 in 20 overs with Dawid Malan scoring 50 in 36 balls hitting 5 fours and 2 sixes while Captain Eoin Morgan and opener Alez Hales made 22 each. For Australia, Glex Maxwell took 3/10 in 2 overs while A Agar took 2/15 in 3 overs. K Richardson, B Stanlake, Andrew Tye, and M Stoinis took one wicket each.

Chasing a victory target of 156, Australia made 161/5 in 18.3 overs. For England, D Willey took 3/28 in 3 overs.  Australia had also won the 1st T20I of the series defeating New Zealand.
