Patna : Bihar Government on September 2, 2019, transferred Arun Kumar Singh, a 1985 batch IAS Officer and Additional Chief Secretary, Water Resources Department, and appointed him as the Development Commissioner, Bihar. The General Administration Department issued a notification to this effect on September 2 itself.
The post of Development Commissioner had fallen vacant following retirement of Subhash Sharma, a 1984 batch IAS officer, on August 31, 2019. Arun Kumar Singh will retire on August 31, 2021.
Uday Singh Kumawat, a 1993 batch officer and Principal Secretary, Tourism Department, has been given additional charge of Director General, Bihar Public Administration & Rural Development Institute, Patna. Arun Kumar Singh was holding additional charge of this post so far.
