Armyman arrested for killing wife at Bhojpur village

Ara : An armyman Manish allegedly strangulated his wife Rekha Devi to death for dowry at Mohan Tola Tilaath village under Piro police station in Bhojpur district on January 23, 2018. The armyman showed it as death in a road accident and informed police accordingly. But, police sensing foul play arrested him. Manish was forwarded to jail.

A named FIR has been lodged with Piro police station in this connection on the statement of father of the deceased. As the news of his arrest reached his village, the family members of Manish fled away from the village taking both the children of Rekha Devi with them.

SHO, Piro police station, said that Rekha Devi of village Rupas under Athmalgola police station in Patna district, was married to Manish, an armyman of Mohan Tola Tilaath village under Piro police station five years ago and was ever since being tortured by her in-laws for more dowry. When their demands were not fulfilled, Rekha Devi was strangulated to death.
