Ara: Armed criminals hijacked a Malda, Bengal, bound truck carrying bicycle parts at Sonbarsa in Bhojpur district on October 27 night. While the truck driver Billu jumped from the running truck and was injured, the whereabouts of his two helpers is yet to be known.

Bhojpur police recovered a youth lying on the road in a pool of blood at village Kulharia under Koelwar police station on October 27 night and admitted him to Primary Health Centre (PHC), Koelwar, in Bhojpur district,  but the doctor there referred him to Ara Sadar Hospital. When he regained his senses, he told the police that his name was Billu, son of Kailash Dubey of Duabul village under Dasahivarna police station in Devaria district in Utter Pradesh, and was a truck driver. He said some armed criminals hijacked his truck loaded with accessories of bicycles but he jumped from the running truck to save himself and was injured. He also said that two Khalasi:  Dilip, 25, and Chhotu, 15, of Goplaganj district, who were also on the truck with him, were in danger.

Billu said that he started from Ludhiyana, Punjab, two days ago with the truck loaded with cycle parts and was to go to Malada. On October 27, he and his two khalasis took dinner at a line hotel at Sonbarsa and later they slept in the truck. When Billu woke up, he noticed that the truck was running in full speed. He raised an alarm. At this, the miscreants started beating him iron rod but he somehow jumped down from the running truck near Kulharia on  Ara-Patna main road. Koelwar police rushed to Sonbarsa police station to get detailed information about the incident though no FIR has so far been made in this regard with either of the two police station.
