Ara : The family members, relatives and acquaintances of slain Ara businessman Krishna Kumar Singh alias Krishna Ji on August 3, 2017, gave a call for Bhojpur bandh on August 5, 2017, to seek  immediate arrest of five named accused of the murder case case if the state government fails to recommend for a CBI inquiry into it within two days. They also demanded Call Detail Record (CDR) of the named accused which will reveal their connection with their political and administrative bosses.

Krishna Kumar Singh alias Kumar Ji was shot dead on July 2, 2017 in Padav locality near Model Institute under Town police station while on way to his house about 11am and  a named FIR was lodged with Town police station, Ara,  against 10 persons including Munnu Singh, son of Deputy Mayor, Ara Municipal Corporation (AMC) Malti Devi, former Bhojpur district president, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Indrabhan Singh, notorious criminal Chand Mian, his brother Nayeem Mian and HAM(S) leader Danish Rizwan.
