Ara : It was an inmate of Ara jail who had allegedly threatened Jail Superintendent Niranjan Pandit with dire consequences if he dared shift Akhilesh Upadhyay alias Musa, one of the main accused in the Ara Civil Court Bomb blast case along with Lamboo Sharma, to another jail. This fact came to light in an inquiry conducted a team constituted by Bhojpur SP Awakash Kumar though the police refrained from disclosing the name of the inmate.
Ara Jail Superintendent Niranjan Pandit was threatened with dire consequences on May 18, 2108, on his mobile threatening to blow him up if he dared shift Akhilesh Upadhayay to another jail. The miscreants disclosed his name as Chhotu Rai. On the complain of the Jail Superintendent, an FIR was lodged with Ara Town police station the same day.
Bhojpur SP Awakash Kumar immediately formed a team to locate the miscreants. The SP had said that a person named Chhotu Rai is languishing in the jail but he did not confirmĀ whether the same person or someone else had threatened the Jail Superintendent. He had suspected someone might have called him in the name of another person. But the inquiry team found that an inmate of Ara jail had threatened Jail Superintendent Pandit. The SP refrained from disclosing his name saying it might affect the inquiry.
