Ara : Chief Judicial Magistrate, Ara, on June 30, 2017, granted bail to Munnu Singh, son of Deputy Mayor, Ara Municipal Corporation (AMC), Malti Devi, in a case relating to posting of derogatory remarks against the RJD MLA from Barhara in Bhojpur district, Saroj Yadav, on WhatsApp.

Saroj Yadav, MLA, had on June 26, 2017, evening, lodged a named FIR with Barhara police station against Munnu Singh, Group Admin of a WhatsApp group and son of Deputy Mayor, Ara Municipal Corporation (AMC), Malati Singh, for maligning his image by posting false and misleading information in the social media against him. Munnu Singh is a resident of Rampur under Barhara police station but lives at Ara, headquarters of Bhojpur district.

A news was posted in the WhatsApp group ‘India News’ on June 23, 2017, that Bihar Health Minister and son of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad,  Tej Pratap Yadav, abused and pushed Saroj Yadav,  out of an Iftar party at Patna recently.

Saroj Yadav said that he had gone to the Iftar party but no such incident had taken place there. The news was made viral only to malign his image, the RJD MLA claimed. On the other hand, Munnu Singh said that the FIR had been lodged because he had posted earlier that his mother will contest next assembly election from Barhara. Munnu Singh said in the court that he posted the matter on  the WhatsApp group but the name of Saroj Yadav was inadvertently written in place of Sanoj Yadav.
