Ara : A named accused in Ara double murder case Shamsher Mian of Abarpul locality under Ara Town police station in Bhojpur district surrendered before Ara Civil Court on March 29, 2019. Later, he was sent to jail under judicial custody.
SHO, Ara Town police station, Chandrashekhar Gupta, said that some miscreants had killed a businessman Imran Khan near Gopali Chowk under Ara Town police station on December 6, 2018, and they also killed his sister Shabnam Tara at her residence at Kasayee Tola under Ara Town police station in the last week of February 2019 for not withdrawing the case lodged in connection the murder of her brother.
Two separate FIRs were lodged with Ara Town police station and nine persons were made named accused in each of the FIR including a dreaded criminal Khurshid Quraishi and his brother, the SHO said. Police arrested four named accused including Khurshid Quraishi and his associate Sarala Mian while three of the named accused including the brother of Khursid Mian surrendered before the court. Under mounting police pressure, Shamsher Mian also surrendered before the court and was sent to jail, the SHO said.
Now only Nayyar Mian is absconding and police are conducting raids to arrest him, the SHO said and added that police would take Shamsher Mian on remand for further interrogation.
