Ara Court sentences man to rigorous life imprisonment till death in rape & murder case

Ara : Additional District and Sessions Judge 1, Ara, Rakesh Kumar Singh, on November 30, 2019, sentenced to rigorous life imprisonment till death Azad Shekhar in connection with killing a minor girl after outraging her modesty at village Mukundpur under Charpokhari police station in Bhojpur District. The court also slapped a fine of Rs 30,000 on him.

Special Public Prosecutor, Saroj Kumari, said that Azad Shekhar  entered the house of his 11 year old cousin sister in drunken state on May 6, 2017, at village Mukundpur when all the members of the house were out and outraged her modesty and later killed her with a view to erasing evidence. A named FIR was lodged with Charpokhari police station on the statement of the elder sister of the deceased.
