Ara : Additional District and Sessions Judge I, Ara, R K Singh, on December 21, 2019, sentenced to 10 years’ rigorous imprisonment (RI) to Hari Shankar Singh and also slapped a fine of Rs. 1 lakh on him for keeping contraband Ganja at his house.

Special Public Prosecutor Rana Pratap Singh said that SHO, Barhara police station, Bijay Kumar, got information on June 4, 2015, that Hari Shankar Singh and his son Rahul Kumar of Badaka Lauhar village under the police station were dealing in Ganja from their house and so he along with police force conducted raids at their house and seized 34 kg of Ganja but Hari Shankar Singh escaped from the scene. Police got information that Hari Shankar Singh had taken shelter at a poultry farm at the village.

Police rushed there and arrested Hari Shankar Singh,  said Special Public Prosecutor Singh. When police searched the place, 119 kg of Ganja was seized form three cars parked there. A named FIR was lodged with Barhara police station against Hari Shankar Singh, he said. After hearing both the parties, ADJ I R K Singh awarded Hari Shankar Singh 10 years’ rigorous imprisonment and also slapped a fine of Rs 1 lakh on him.
