Ara : Additional District and Sessions Judge IV, Ara, Tribuwan Yadav, has  sentenced to three years’ rigorous imprisonment (RI)  five persons and also slapped a fine of Rs 25,000 on each of them in connection with Ganja smuggling.

Special Public Prosecutor Rana Pratap Singh said that Bhojpur police in South Bihar had arrested four persons: Gopal Singh and Satyendra Kumar of Masadh under Udwantnagar police station, Kamlesh Paswan of Kudhawa Tola under Nawadaben ,and Chandan Singh of Judawanpur village in Vaishali District in North Bihar with 54 kg of contraband Ganja from near Tribhuwani Mor under Nawada police station on August 7, 2017, though Tarkeshwar Singh of Masadh had escaped.

After hearing both the parties, the ADJ IV convicted Kamlesh Paswan, Satyendra Kumar, Gopal Singh, Chandan Singh, and Tarkeshwar Singh and awarded three years’ rigorous imprisonment to them and also slapped a fine of Rs 25000 on each of them.
