Ara Court sentences 3 rape case accused to rigorous life imprisonment

Ara : Additional District and Sessions Judge I, Ara, Rakesh Kumar, on August 26, 2019, sentenced to rigorous life imprisonment three persons : Chandan Singh, Yuvraj Singh, and Ram Ji Singh, and also slapped a fine of Rs 45,000 on each of them for outraging modesty of a teenage girl of Mahadalit community in October, 2018.

Special Public Prosecutor Satyendra Kumar Singh Dara said that Chandan Singh, Yuvraj Singh, and Ram Ji Singh, outraged the modesty of a teenage girl at a village under Dhangai police station in Bhojpur on October 4, 2018 ,when she had gone to the field at the village to attend call of nature. A named FIR was lodged with Dhangai police station against Chandan Singh, Yuvraj Singh, and Ram Ji Singh on the statement of the girl.

After hearing both the parties, ADJ I, Rakesh Kumar, held all the three accused guilty of raping the girl and sentenced to rigorous life imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs 45,000 on each of them.
