Ara : Additional District and Sessions Judge, Ara, Ramesh Chandra Dwiwedi on January 23 held an inmate of Ara jail Shivjeet Mishra, guilty along with other six for the murder of Munna Mushra on Monday. The quantum of punishment will be announced on January 25, 2017.

Anil Kumar Mishra alias Munna Mishra of Sonbarsha village under Shahpur police station in Bhopur district was shot dead on February 15, 2011, and a named FIR was lodged with Shahpur police station against eight persons including Shivjeet Mishra on the statement of Rajendra Ojha, maternal uncle of the deceased. Panchayat election was said to be the reason behind the incident. Mother and wife of Shivjeet Mishra are mukhia and panchayat samiti member respectively. After hearing both the parties, the court held Shivjeet Mishra guilty along with other six for the murder of Munna Mishra.

Shivjeet Mishra of Sonbarsha has been culprit in the eye of law since long and his three sons: Haresh Mishra, Dhan Jee Mishra and Kishun  Mishra, are also in the Ara jail in connection with murder of  BJP state vice president Visheshwar Ojha in 2016. The trio were arrested from West Bengal on December 25, 2016, but his fourth son Brajesh Ojha, who carries a reward of Rs 50,000 on his head, is still absconding. All the four sons were wanted in the murder of Visheshwar Ojha and Mako Ojha. and were absconding for long.
