Ara Advocates proceed on four-day strike

Ara :  The Members of Ara Bar Association proceeded on a four-day strike in protest on February 28, 2020, against dilly-dallying attitude of police in arresting miscreants responsible for the murder of an Advocate Satyendtra Kumar.

A meeting of Ara Bar Association was held under the chairmanship of President, Ara Bar Association Gopal Sharan Verma on  on February 27, 2020, evening, and resolved to abstain from professional duty from February 28, 2020, to March 2, 2020. It was also resolved that a meeting of the Ara Bar Association would  be held in the evening on March 2, 2020, evening, to decide the future course of action.

Secretary, Ara Bar Association, Vidya Niwas Singh alias Deepak, said that some armed miscreants had shot dead an advocate Satyendra Kumar on February 22, 2020, at Shivganj under Ara Town police station. Bhojpur SP Sushil Kumar had assured to arrest all the miscreants within three days. Police arrested Rajesh Kumar but the main accused Guddu Kumar is still at large despite issuance of arrest warrant against him.
