Patna : Patna police and SIT probing the Intermediate examinations result racket on Monday arrested another former secretary of Bihar School Examination Board BSEB) Sriniwas Chandra Tiwari. Hariharnath Jha, another former secretary is already in judicial custody along with the then chairman of the board,Lalkeshwar Prasad Singh.
Tiwari was under detnetion at Kotwali police sttion here for the last five days and was quizzed by the SIT. He was formally arrested today, Senior SP, Patna, Manu Maharaaj said.
Meanwhile,Ruby Roy, a student of Vishun Roy college, Bhagwanpur in Vaishali district, who had topped the Intermediate Arts examinations this year, was declared a minor by special vigilance court judge RK Singh today.She was in Beur jail since her arrest. On June 30, the court had asked for verification of her age on the basis of her matriculation examination certificate issued by Bihar School Dxamination Board.
On a petition filed by an NGO Prayas Bharti,the court found her to be a minor and ordered for her detention at Remand Home in place of Beur central jail, Patna. Petitioner’s lawyer informed the court her birth certificate showed she was born on November 15,1998.He mooved a petition in the court seeking trial of the SIT officers and Kotwali police station SHO for defying law and sending Ruby Roy,a minor, to Beur central Jail .
