Gopalganj: Even as Gopalganj Civil Surgeon (CS) Dr Madheshwar Prasad on Septembr 13 announced spraying of DDT and other precautionary measures to deal with diseases, another woman Subhawati Devi of village Ramdas Bagahi suffered from high fever on Wednesday.

It may be mentioned here that three persons including two children had died within 24 fours at Shamdas Bagahi and Ramdas Bagahi villages under Kateya block on Tuesday. The CS had rushed there with medical team and announced several measures to tackle disease. On Wednesday, Subhawati Devi, wife of Sanjay Bhar, also suffered from high fever. Her family members took her to Gorakhpur for treatment. Meanwhile, the villagers are angry with the CS as not a single medical team reached the two villages after death of three persons. Though the Referral Hospital started fogging works in the villages, medical team did not reach the villages on Wednesday.

It may be recalled that five year old Sita Kumari, daughter of Sushil Bhagat of Sham Das Bagahi village, suffered from high fever and after shivering for 15 hours she died. Later, her brother Pramod Kumar (6) also died with similar symptoms.  A woman Ramawati Kuer (45) died due to some disease on Septembr 12  causing panic among the residents. Kuer had also complained of high fever.
