Patna : World No 198 Ankita Raina, 27, won singles title at ITF Thailand 01A at Nonthaburi, Thailand, on February 2, 2020, beating 4th seed Chl0e Paquet, 25, France, in straight sets in final. Ankita, who had also reached semi-finalsof an ITF event in Australia, beat World No 176 Chloe Paquet 6-3, 7-5 in the final to win her first title in 2020.It is her 10th ITF singles title.
Ankita won 6 break points in the match to 3 by Paquet. She won 4 games in a row in the match to 2 by the French. Both the players won 34 service points each. Paquet, however, fired 5 Aces in the match to none by the Indian, who will get 25 ranking points for winning the singles title.
Ankita had also won the doubles title on February 1 partnering Bibiane Schoofs. Top seed Ankita Raina & Bibiane Schoofs beat Manachaya Sawangkaew & Supapitch Kuearum 6-4, 6-2 in final.
