Patna : Top seed and World No 6 Kevin Anderson, 32, South Africa, and World No 100 Ivo Karlovic, 39, Croatia, will clash in the final of Tata Open Maharashtra, an ATP 250 point event, at Pune, on January 5, 2019.

Anderson defeated defending champion and World No 30 Gilles Simon, 34, France, 6-3, 7-6 in the second semi-finals on January 4, 2019, night. Anderson hammered 21 Aces in the match to just 1 by Simon. He also won 2 break points to 1 by Simon. Both the players won 3 games each in a row in the match. Anderson won 57 service points to 36 by Simon.

In the first semi-final, Karlovic beat Steve Darcis, 34, Belgium, in a three-set thriller 7-6, 4-6, 6-3. Karlovic hammered 33 Aces in the match to just 3 by Darcis. Karlovic committed 4 double faults compared to 2 by Darcis. Both the players won 1 break point each. Both of them won 3 games each in a row in the match. However, Karlovic’s winning percentage on both his first and second serve was better than that of Darcis.
