Ara: All the ward councillors of Ara Municipal Corporation (AMC) led by Mayor Sunil Kumar took out a silence procession from the AMC office on Friday morning that passed through the main thoroughfares of the town and culminated at Ramana Maidan. The procession was taken out in protest against murderous attack on Deputy Mayor Basant Singh by some unidentified armed criminals on Thursday when he was on morning walk. Before taking out the procession, the members of the AMC held a meeting at AMC office and strongly condemned the attack on the Deputy Mayor and demanded immediate arrest of the miscreants. They said they would be forced to launch an aggressive agitation if the accused were not nabbed at the earliest.
