Ara : Abhay Kumar Singh, son of Pramod Kumar Singh of Shivganj locality under Town police station filed a complaint case in the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Sra, on September 11, 2017, against two dozen police personnel and Manager, Ara Municipal Corporation (AMC), Shekhar Kumar Prasad, and the magistrate, Vikas Kumar, making 10 persons of the locality witnesses of the case. The case was filed against the officials of the Bhojpur district for their alleged highhandedness during an anti-encroachment drive at Sheetal Tola-Shivganj locality under Town police station Ara, on September 11, 2017.

Abhay Kumar Singh has charged the named the government employees with misbehaving with the women folk, snatching his gold chain, picking Rs 10,000 cash from the counter of his shop and thrashing him and other persons when they objected to demolition of stairs and ceiling.

Manager, AMC, Shekhar Kumar Prasad has also lodged an FIR with Town police station against 11 persons including Abhay Kumar Singh, Anjani Kumar Singh, Manoj Kumar Singh, Amar Kumar Singh, Vivekanand Prasad, Alok Kumar, Rakesh Kumar Tiwari, Satyendra Singh, Saroj Singh, Bheem Sen and 25 unnamed persons for preventing the government employees from performing their duty, pelting them with stones,  damaging government vehicles and looting of government fund. The FIR was lodged against those who dared file a case in the court and also who are witness in the case.

Prasad, in his FIR, said that a team of AMC led by the SDO Navdeep Shukla had gone to Shivganj and Sheetal Tola locality under Town police station to remove encroachment on the direction of Patna High Court on September 11, 2017, but some residents of the area damaged the window pan of the JCB, tore the shirt of the Circle Officer (CO) and made some derogatory remarks against two employees of the AMC who belong to dalit community and also snatched Rs 7,200 collected as fine.

It may be mentioned here that resident of Shivganj locality and policemen were involved in scuffle over demolitin of illegal construction of drains in the area and police had to use mild force to disperse the unruly mob. AMC Manager Prasad had told mediapersons on the day that crowd had surrounded the JCB machine though he did not mention about snatching of money on September 11, 2017. Bhojpur SP Awkash Kumar said that the matter has come to his knowledge and action would be taken against the guilty after thorough inquiry.
