Ara : Patients continue to suffer as the seven- days strike by the Ambulance drivers and emergency medical technicians (EMTs) entered its fourth day on February 4, 2019. The Ambulance driver and EMTs are on strike under the banner of Bihar State Employees Association to press their 8 point demand including a remuneration of Rs 15,000 to ambulance drivers and  Rs 18,000  to EMT employees per month, appointment letters, regular payment, weekly leave, and leave on festivals and others.

The agitating drivers and employees led by Manoj Kumar Singh, Bhojpur district president, Amulance Employees Association, staged demonstration before the office of the Civil Surgeon, Bhojpur, at Sadar Hospital, Ara, raising slogans against the government and the PDPL Company.

Brajesh Pathak, an EMT, and Lav Kush Kumar, an ambulance driver, said that they were left with no option but to resort to agitation as the government remains indifferent to their demands. They said if their demands were not conceded at the earliest, they would go on an indefinite strike from February 8, 2019.
