Patna : Reema Kagti directorial ‘Gold’ starring Akshay Kumar and Mouni Roy has entered Rs 100 crore doing a business of over Rs 104 crore in 16 days. The film, which was released on August 15, 2018, had collected Rs 100 crore in its first 12 days. But, the film’s collection dropped sharply declined in the second week doing a business of just Rs 14 crore. The film collected only Rs 95 lakh on its 16th days.

‘Gold’ had a great first day collection of over Rs 25 crore. It has become the 8th film of 2018 after ‘Sanju’, ‘Race 3’, ‘Raazi’, ‘Padmaavat’, ‘Baaghi 2’, ‘Raid’ and ‘Sonu Ke Tutu Ki Sweety’ to enter Rs 100 crore club. The film is inspired by India’s first Hockey Olympic Gold Medal in 1948 as an independent country and revolves round Hockey player  Tapan Das.

John Abrahm starrer ‘Satyamev Jayate’, which also released on August 15, 2018, has done a business of Rs 81 crore in 16 days. It grossed Rs 10 crore in its second week.
