Ara: Hundreds of activists of All India Students’ Association (AISA) took out a procession from their office near eastern railway crossing on Monday and reached H D Jain College, Ara,  where they burnt the effigy of CM Nitish Kumar in protest against slashing of the scholarship amount. Sabbir, Bhojpur district president AISA, alleged that earlier the government gave Rs 2 lakh to Rs 8 lakh to the Schedule Castes, Schedule Tribes, Minority and OBC students for higher studies but now the government has decided to cut the scholarship amount considerably. Now the government has decided, he alleged, to give only Rs 10,000 to Rs 90,000.  He said if the government did not roll back, his party would stage gherao Bihar legislative assembly on June 29.
