Patna : Afghanistan defeated Bangladesh (BAN), by 7 wickets in 3rd ODI at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram, BAN, on February 28, 2022, as opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz (wk), 20, scored and unbeaten 106 in 110 balls hitting 7 fours and 4 sixes, his 3rd ODI ton in only 9th game. BAN won the three-match series 2-1.
Gurbaz was named Player Of The Match while Liton Das ( BAN) was named Player Of The Series. BAN had won the toss and opted to bat.
Gurbaz and his opening partner Riaz Hassan ( 35 runs) added 79 runs forr the first wicket, Gurbaz and Rahmat Shah then added 100 runs for the 2nd wicket. Shah fell to spinner Mehidy Hassan for 47 in 67 balls with 3 fours. Hashimatullah Shahidi ( captain) also fell to Mehedy for 2 making it 183/3.
Earlier batting first, BAN were all out for only 192 runs in 46.5 overs with opener Liton Das scoring 86 runs in 113 balls with 7 fours while Mahmudullah remained unbeaten on 29. Captain Tamim Iqbal ( opener) fell to Fazalhaq Farooqi for 11 runs. For Afghanistan, spinner Rashid Khan took 3/37 in 10 overs.
