Patna: Motorcycle borne criminals made a murderous attack on an advocate and real estate dealer Sunil Singh close to his house at Kesri Nagar under Shastrinagar police station, Patna, on December 27 afternoon. Singh esustained bullet injuries on  his chest and arm and has been admitted to Paras Hospital for treatment. The incident took place when Singh was engaged in construction of a road near his house at around 1.45 pm. His bodyguard Dayanand and three labourers had a miraculous escape.

On getting information, local police reached the spot and sent an injured Singh to a local private hospital for treatment. Singh’s family members created a scene outside the hospital for some time. Police said that prima facie, the incident is fallout of some old land dispute. Three persons including Nilmani Singh and Pawan Singh have been made accused in the FIR lodged by Singh’s family members, police said, adding that the assailants had come on a bike.

Singh, a native of Akauna village in Bhojpur, was staying here and runs a housing co-operative society. He had also contested last Lok Sabha elections from Buxar parliamentary seat as BSP candidate. Singh’s family members alleged that the murderous attack has been carried out at the instance of his cousin Niraj Singh. They claimed that three persons-Nilmani, Pawan and one more person- came and opened fire at Singh.The family members recalled that earlier too a murderous attack was made on Sunil.
