Gopalganj: A Gopalganj district administration team including police officials held a meeting with ward councillors on January 12 to end the indefinite strike by the traders against alleged police atrocities. SDO Mritunjay Kumar was also present at the meeting. Police officials requested the traders to call off their strike. The police officials assured them that innocent persons would not be harassed and arrested. Police Inspector Baleshwar Rai talked to every ward councillor and urged them to end the strike. Those who attended the meeting included Harendra Choudhary, Jaihind Prasad, Munna Raj and Durgesh Kumar.
