Patna : Activists of Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) held virodh march and burnt the effigy of state CM Nitish Kumar in Aurangabad to protest the murder of a journalist of a local vernacular newspaper Brajesh Kumar in Samastipur. The march was led by Aurangabad Town unit secretary Amit Gupta.

ABVP district convener Saurabh Sinha said that this was not the lone incident when anti-social elements have targeted a journalist in the state. He said that these incidents show that the Nitish Kumar government has failed to pin down the criminals, who are striking at will across the state.

Sinha charged the state government with throttling the voice of fourth pillar of democracy. He said that earlier also bureau chief of a local Hindi daily Rajdeo Ranjan was murdered in Siwan and the criminals involved in the murder were seen getting photographed in presence of senior officials. “What message these incidents are sending to the people of Bihar,” he questioned demanding immediate resignation of state CM as he is unable to improve law and order.
