Patna : Nitish Kumar government on January 17, 2017, decided not to renew  licences of Beer, Extra Neutral Alcohol Manufacturing units and Bottling plants during 2017-18. Bihar cabinet, at its meeting held at International Convention Centre, Rajgir, in Nalanda district, approved a proposal of state Excise & Prohibition department to this effect. The meeting was chaired by Bihar CM Nitish Kumar. Licence of 12 Bottling plants, six Extra  Neutral Alcohol manufacturing units and three Beer units will not be renewed in next financial year. However, six units producing Ethanol would continue. The cabinet also decided to hold budget session of Bihar legislature from February 23, 2017. It would continue till March 31, 2017.
