Police arrest father and maternal grand-father of girl for her murder

Buxar : A case of alleged honour killing of a teenage girl  has come to light after the Buxar police arrested her father Gautam Chauhan and her maternal grand-father Shyam Narayan Chaudhary on December 22 and forwarded them to jail in this connection.

SHO, Dhansoi Police Station, Buxar, said that a teenage girl Kavita Kumari, daughter of Gautam Chauhan of village Itarhi under the police station had developed an affair with a youth of the village Akshay Kumar Chauhan but it had annoyed her family members. All efforts to dissuade her went in vain, the SHO said.

Akshay Kumar Chauhan left the village and  went to Bengaluru after the family members of the girl started harassing him. Still both remained in touch. The youth was called back on the promise of marrying Kavita but when he  returned the girl’s family members went back at their word.

Kavita, on the other hand, started pressurising her family members to get  her married to Akshay Kumar Chauhan. When her family members saw that the prestige of  the family was at stake, Gautam Chauhan planned with his brother Rakesh Chauhan to kill her. To carry out their plan,  Gautam Chauhan went to his father-in-law’s house at Lodipur and finalized his plan. His father-in-law took help of his relative Kamlesh of Parsada village. Later, they burnt and killed the girl and threw her body near village Chhitendehara from where the police ecovered the half burnt body of the girl two week ago. The SHO said that police were trying to arrest Rakesh Chauhan and Kamlesh and hoped they will be arrested very soon.
