New Delhi : With the declining trend continuing in the daily  new cases, India logged less than 2 lakh new cases for 3rd successive day on May 30, 2021. A total of 1,65,553 Daily New Cases were registered in India in last 24 hours, down from 1,73,790 cases the previous day, taking the tally to 2,78,94,800 in the country at 8 am on May 30, 2021.  On the other hand, Daily Recoveries continued to outnumber the Daily New Cases in India for the 17th consecutive day on May 30, 2021. A total of 2,76,309 recoveries were registered in the last 24 hours, down from 2,84,601 cases a day before, taking the tally to 2,54,54,320 on May 30, 2021.

The country also recorded 3,460 new deaths in last 24 hours taking the tally to 3,25,972 on May 30, 2021. The recovery rate (RR) of Covid-19 patients improved to 91.25 % in India on May 30 from 90.80% on May 29, 2021, according to Union Health Ministry figure.

The Active Caseload further decreased to 21,14,508 active cases in India on May 30, down from 22,28,724 cases on May 29, 2021, a  net decline of 1,14,216 cases in last 24 hours and account for 7.58% of the country’s total Positive Cases ( 2,78,94,800). The country has tested 34,31,83,748 samples so far including 20,63,839 samples on May 29, 2021. Meanwhile, a total of 21,20,66,614 people have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in India so far including 30,35,749 beneficiaries on May 29, 2021. Out of the people infected since beginning of the pandemic,  2,54,54,320 people have already recovered from Covid-19.

While on one side testing has increased  across the country, a continued decline in weekly case positivity is noticed. Weekly Positivity Rate is currently at 9.36% while the Daily Positivity rate  was at 8.02% on May 30, 2021. It has remained less than 10% for 6 consecutive days now.

The 3,460 new Covid-19 deaths included 832 in Maharashtra, 492 in Karnataka, 486 in Tamilnadu, 198 in Kerala, 155 in Uttar Pradesh, 148 in West Bengal, 125 in Punjab, 122 in Delhi, 99 in Uttarakhand, 97 in Haryana, 70 in Rajasthan, 68 in Madhya Pradesh, 64 in Chhattisgarh, 48 in Bihar, 46 in J&K, 29 in Gujarat, 15 in Manipur, 13 in Jharkhand. India had recorded 3,617 new deaths on May 29, 2021. The case fatality rate increased to 1.17% in India on May 30, 2021.
