New Delhi : The declining trend in daily new Covid-19 cases continue in India for the past 14 days. A total of 2,11,298 new Covid-19 cases were recorded in India in last 24 hours, slightly up from 2,08,921 new cases on May 26, taking the tally to 2,73,69,093 at 8 am on May 27, 2021. On the other hand, a total of 2,83,135 Covid-19 patients were declared cured / discharged in India in last 24 hours, down from 2,95,955 on May 26, taking the tally of patients cured so far in the country to 2,46,33,951 on May 27, 2021. The country logged 3,847 new Covid deaths in last 24 hours taking the tally to 3,15,235 on May 27, 2021.
The recovery rate (RR) of Covid-19 patients improved to 90.01% on May 27 from 89.66% on May 27, 2021. Active cases further dropped to 24,19,907 in the country on May 27, 2021, a drop of 75,684 cases in last 24 hours, and accounted for 8.84% of the total Covid cases (2,73,69,093) recorded so far. India has tested 33,69,69,353 samples so far including 21,57,857 samples on May 26, 2021. Meanwhile, a total of 20,26,95,874 people have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in India so far including 18,85,805 beneficiaries on May 26, 2021, according to Union Health Ministry figure.
The 3,847 new deaths included 992 in Maharashtra, 530 in Karnagtaka, 475 in Tamilnadu, 193 in Uttar Pradesh, 185 in Punjab, 153 in West Bengal, 151 in Kerala, 130 in Delhi, 107 in Rajasthan, 106 in Haryana, 99 in Andhra Pradesh, 99 in Bihar, 93 in Uttarakhand, 90 in Assam, 72 in Madhya Pradesh, 56 in Chhattisgarh, 40 in J&K, 39 in Goa, 36 in Gujarat, 19 in Jharkhand, and 10 in Meghalaya. India had recorded 4,157 new deaths on May 26, 2021.
The Covid-19 death toll in India on May 27, 2021, was : Maharashtra (91,341), Tamilnadu (21,815), Karnataka (26,929), Delhi (23,695), Andhra Pradesh (10,427), Uttar Pradesh (19,712), West Bengal (14,827), Gujarat (9,701), Madhya Pradesh (7,758), Rajasthan (8,018), Punjab (13,827), Telengana (3,189), J&K (3,702), Haryana (7,841), Bihar (4,845), Odisha (2,584), Jharkhand (4,910), Assam (3,005), Uttarakhand (6,113), Kerala (7,882), Chhattisgarh (12,779), Puducherry (1,435), Goa (2,499), Tripura (479), Chandigarh (722), Andaman & Nicobar (108), Himachal Pradesh (2,932), Ladakh (181), Manipur (730), Nagaland (327), Meghalaya (512), Arunachal Pradesh (107), Sikkim (239), Mizoram (34), Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu (4), and Lakshadweep (26).
