Ara : Lockdown guidelines particularly those relating to social distancing and wearing face masks are being violated with impunity almost every day in Bhojpur District in South Bihar. The government allowed to open grocery shops and those selling essential items from 7am to 10 am daily and requested the people not to gather in large numbers but they are seen in hundreds in the market.

Besides, the government has allowed only 20 persons during marriage ceremony with the permission of police officials banning play of disc jockey, baraat, dance performances, but the people hardly follow it. Bhojpur District Administration is, however,  taking stern action against several guidelines violators.

The videos of Bar girls performing dance during a marriage ceremony at a village under Sahar block and also at Marahi Tola under Charpokhari police station in the district has gone viral on social media. In the video, Bar girls were seen dancing with pistols in their hands and a boy was accompanying them and also taking selfie with them. The boy was seen showering money on the bar girls with pistol in his hand. In another video, the people gathered to watch dance performance of bar girls at Marahi Tola under Charpokhari police station the whole night violating guidelines on social distancing and face masks.

When contacted, SHO, Charpokhari police station, Om Prakash Kumar, refused to say anything on this matter. Piro DSP Ashok Kumar Azad said that it is a serious matter and he is investigating it on the basis of viral video and action would be taken against the guilty.
