Ara : A bike borne youth was killed and a boy injured when a speeding bus knocked down their two-wheeler near village Kulharia on Ara-Patna main road NH 30 under Koelwar police station (PS) on May 16, 2021, late evening.
Police brought the body over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem and admitted the injured there. The deceased was identified as Badal Kumar, 18, son of Devendra Ram of Neelkanth Tola at Goraiya Sthan under Maner PS in Patna District while the injured was identified as Rahul Kumar, 12, son of Chandradeo Ram of Block Tala Colony under Maner PS. The deceased was a labourer. Driver of the bus escaped from the scene leaving the bus behind. Police seized the bus and the motorcycle.
Family members of the deceased said that Badal Kumar and Rahul Kumar had gone to Sakaddi under Koelwar PS on May 16, 2021, morning, to his cousin sister. When they were returning home the same evening on motorcycle, a speeding bus collided head-on with their motorcycle near Kulharia and injured them. Police brought the injured to Ara Sadar Hospital where Badal Kumar succumbed to his injuries.
