Sasaram : Police drive to ensure compliance of Covid-19 guidelines went awry in Rohtas District on May 4, 2021, as police personnel threw green vegetables, fish, and meat on road and also freed some chicken from the shops. Police also imposed a fine of Rs 200 on several shop-keepers.
With a view to checking surge in Covid-19 cases, the state government had recently imposed night curfew and ordered for closure of all types of shops after 4pm and issued guidelines in this regard.
To implement the order of the State government, Executive Magistrate, Dihri-on-Sone Sub-division in Rohtas district, Santosh Kumar, along with police force moved on roads of Dehri to ensure compliance of the guidelines issued by the government. Seeing some shops open after 4pm, Kumar and police personnel threw green vegetables, fish, and meat, on road and let the hens fly. The Executive Magistrate also slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 on owners of Santosh Vastralaya and Noor Chicken Shop at Babuganj.
