Schwartzman, Londero, Djere & Vinolas enter QFs of Cordoba Open

Patna : Defending champion Juan Ignacio Londero, 26, Argentina, beat compatriot Pedro Cachin, 24, in straight sets to enter the quarter-finals of Cordoba pen, an ATP World Tour 250 Clay Court event, at Cordoba, Argentina, on February 7, 2020.

Londero, the 8th seed, beat Cachin 6=3, 6-3 in 2nd round on February 7 winning 3 break points and 5 games in a row in the match. Londero won 42 service points to 37 by Cachin. Londero’s winning percentage both on his first and second serve ( 79% & 67 %) was much higher than that of Cachin ( 62 % & 39 %).

Top seed Diego Schwartzman, 27, Argentina, beat World No 87 Jaume Munar, 22, Spain, 6-1, 7-5 to enter the QFs of the tournament. Schwartzman won 5 break points in the match to 2 by the Spaniard.He also won 6 games in a row to 3 by Munar. Schwartzman won 46 service points to 29 by Munar.

Fifth seed Albert Ramos Vinolas, 32, Spain, beat compatriot Pablo Andujar, 34, in three-sets 6-3, 6-7, 6-2 to enter the QFs. Vinolas won 8 break points in the match to 5 by Andujar. He also won 4 games in a row to 2 by Andujar. Vinolas will face Schwartzman in QFs.

Fourth seed and World No 39 Laslo Djere, 24, Serbia, beat World No 150 Pedro Martinez Portero, 22, Spain, 6-3, 6-4 to advanced to the QFs. Djere fired 15 Aces in the match to 2 by Portero. He won 3 break points to 1 by Portero, a qualifier. Djere will face Londero in QFs.
